Happiness can be categorized in two approaches:
The hedonistic approach, which is psychological theory, which describes happiness as final goal of life, and the cognitive theory that describes life-satisfaction as a “Personal assessment of one’s condition compared to an external reference standard or to one’s aspirations”.
However, happiness is not a place to live in, but it is a place to visit. It is the type of emotion, which you cannot have permanently even if you want to, because if you do, you will not be able to identify other types of emotions or feelings.
Question that we are about to discuss is, do the brains play an important role in helping humans to be happier?

Formula for Happiness
Positive psychology helps in replenishing some of the neurotransmitters by strengthening and activating the positive areas in your brains. By practicing positive psychology, it helps the brain to grow and mature positively. It strengthens the neuron-to-neuron projections and their pathways. This in return, helps to develop more pathways resulting in more fiber networks.
This practice can and should be done at a very young age. Children who are more active and exposed to their environment—by participating in sports, playing with educational or mathematical toys and puzzle—tend to be more active and alert. Simply think of these neurotransmitters as a railway track. If you do not utilize the track, it will rust.
Positive psychology also includes getting more pleasure in life and learning your purpose in life. Showing acts of kindness and sense of gratitude, and writing them in your journal will teach yourself to appreciate life better.

Communication/Interpersonal relationships are equally important. According to research, one of the many factors that make people happy are their friends and family members. If you observe, you will notice that many good relationships happen because of good communication between individuals—whether it is at home, at work or even in the social life. The same applies to your brain too. One neuron “talks” to another neuron in their neuronal language. If they do not communicate, the brain will malfunction.

Food and Mood also play a role. Take in good food and take out the toxic ones. Bananas are recommended because they have a lot of serotonin in it. Many of these foods have different kind of amino acids, which result in the production of serotonin, dopamine, etc. Detoxify your body occasionally because it helps clear the toxins out of your body.

Glucose/sugar balance is most important for the brain to function. The brains cannot be without sugar even for a few seconds. Diabetics especially need them because when there is a low glucose level, it can cause coma.

Meditation also helps to replenish our system because meditation keeps you focused and centered. Once your thoughts are more focused and energies are utilized efficiently, you can become more emotionally controlled.

Sprouting refers to the process of washing, soaking and rinsing seeds and grains, until they germinate or sprout. The stage of plant life cycle between being a seed and becoming a plant is what is known as Sprout. There are different varieties of sprouting seeds, nuts and beans that are available like, green mung beans, alfafa, radish, and lentils, wheat etc. These sprouts can be used as a snack, for garnish and even can be juiced. Add your homegrown sprouts to living salads or soups, or blend them into your freshly made juices.
Now the question arises that “Can we grow our own sprouts at home?”
In addition, the answer is positive!

Growing Your Own Sprouts

The first step is to use a good variety of seeds and grains for sprouting and have to keep in mind that the seeds, grains or legumes used for sprouting should be of sproutable type. As wheat is grown in, soil and soybeans do not sprout as they become sour.
Initial step is to wash the seeds thoroughly and then soak them overnight in a jar of clean and pure water. The jar should be covered either with cheesecloth or wire screening, but make sure not to cover the jar fully as to allow air in. The duration of soaking entirely depends on the size of the seeds. As small seeds take 5 hours to get soaked properly, medium size takes 8 hours and beans and grains take 10 to 12 hours for the same matter.
You can adjust the growing time based on whether you are planning on eating the sprouts or juicing the sprouts. Next morning, soaked seeds should be rinsed properly until water is completely drained off. It is important to keep half of the jar empty, as seeds tend to expand their size. There should be ample space for the seeds and grains to be sprouted.
The jar should be placed in the moderate temperature, niether so hot, nor cold. The seeds will germinate and become sprouts in 2 to 3 days from the commencement of soaking, depending on temperature and humidity. Sprouts can be kept for several days in this way.

It is four in the afternoon, and snack attack has hit you hard. You go look for something to satisfy that all-familiar call of your stomach. Hold on!
- Don’t reach for that cup of java!
- Give those pastries a skip!
- Forget the salty chips!
There is a much better choice that will pick you up instantly. It is none other than eating a piece of Fruit.

Fruit will not just add flavor, variety, and color to your diet, fruits will give you essential disease-fighting nutrients you have been missing all these years. The American Dietetics Association and American Heart Association recommend eating at least two to four servings of fruit per day as part of balanced diet. However, unfortunately, most people look at them as optional parts of their daily meals.

Fruits are rich in vitamins, important trace minerals, and fiber. By eating fresh fruits, you can get the best nutrients rather than juicing or drying them. Cut and stored fruit have reduced level of nutrients. Juicing and straining the fruits lowers the amount of fiber. Therefore, it is best to consume the fruit whole, or immediately after cutting it.
Fruit in baked pastries and cakes do not fall under the recommended fruit intake. Therefore, eating apple pie or pineapple tarts will not get you points.

However, there are several ways you can add more fruit to your diet. Here are some of them:
–Add chopped banana or strawberries to your cereal
–Add pineapple bits to your pizza
–Have some snack fruits such as kiwi, grapes, or apple at your desk
–Make nutritious smoothies
–Drink fruit juices rather than cola or coffee
–Stash some dried fruit in your bag.
–Top your rice pilaf with orange slices or raisins
–Eating a fruit salad for dessert instead of cakes.
–Top your ice cream with bits of mango, peaches, or cherries.

Juicing is different from eating fresh fruits and vegetables. When juicing you are separating the mineral elements and distilled water in the food from the fiber.
A healthy diet with plenty of fruits will help you grow, reproduce and maintain your gorgeous self throughout the years. So consider fruits the next time you are looking at adding some zing into your diet. A power-packed serving is virtually low in calories and very high nutrients. Your body will definitely –Thank you.
