Malaika Arora making waves

One of the most popular and prominent item dancers of Indian films is Malaika Arora Khan. She is considered as a popular model and actress of India. Maliaka was born on 23rd October 1973 to a Malayali mother and a Punjabi father. Her Anil Arora was in the merchant navy. She completed her tenth standard from Swami Vivekananda School in Chembur, Mumbai, and her aunt Grace Polycarp was the principal of her school. Her younger sister Amrita Arora has also followed her sister’s steps, she is a Bollywood actress. Before starting her modeling career, Maliaka used to live in Borla Society opposite Basant Talkies.

Malaika was one of the Vjs of the TV channel MTV India when it first started. Soon she became popular, as a Vj. Malaika has appeared in many music videos and numerous advertisements. Malaika rose to a popular interviewer for MTV India. Recognizing her potential, MTV gave Maliaka the opportunity to co-anchor with Cyrus Brocha in the popular programs of the channel ‘Love Line’ and ‘Style Check’. Maliaka has even hosted at various awards functions and concerts. From hosting shows and being a Vj in MTV, she went to the modeling world where she became instantly successful. Her dancing skills are well appreciated by one and all. Her item number in the movie ‘Dil Se’ with Shah Rukh Khan gave her recognition as an accomplished dancer of the Indian film industry. The song was a huge hit and gave her many opportunities. Her other hit item numbers include ‘Kaal Dhamal’ and ‘Mahi Ve’.
