Tobey Maguire

The American actor who has immortalized Spider-Man on screen is Tobey Maguire. Tobey was born on Santa Monica in California on June 27, 1975. His first appearance on screen was in 1989, in the movie ‘The Wizard’. In the early 90s, Tobey’s roles were mainly that of child actor. Tobey has appeared in many commercials, television series and films. But it was the film ‘Spider-Man’ which was released in the year 2002, made Tobey famous. He has even appeared in the two sequels of the ‘Spider-Man’ with Kirsten Dunst in his opposite. His other releases include ‘Cats and Dogs’, ‘Seabiscuit’ where he played the jockey who rides a winning horse to victory. His is good friends with popular actor of Hollywood; Leonardo di Caprio has starred a film directed by Sam Raimi. After he recovered from alcohol, Tobey changed his road and appeared as Paul Hood, who was teenage student of a boarding school in ‘The Ice Storm’ directed by Ang Lee in the year 1997. This movie opened the door for more movies namely ‘Pleasantville’, ‘The Cider House Rules’ and ‘Wonder Boys’. In the movie ‘Ride with the Devil’ released in 1999, Tobey was paired opposite Jewel Kilcher. With the movie ‘Spider-Man, Tobey became a well-known international face and his stardom was solidified. In ‘The Good German’, Tobey played a negative role for the first time. The movie was directed by Steven Soderbergh and was based on Joseph Kanon’s novel. This basketball lover actor has also been into producing films, which include: ‘25th hour’, ‘Whatever We Do’ and ‘Seabiscuit’.
